As a proud Partner in Education with WFISD and the WFISD Foundation, we are committed to connecting Legacy High School students to scholarship and college opportunities.

For on-campus guidance, students can connect with:
• Coach Mack Sillemon, Campus Coordinator (located in the gym or classroom)
• Mrs. Jessica Dixon, College & Career Advisor (in the College & Career Center)

While the Legacy of Hirschi team does not directly process WFISD Foundation applications, we collaborate closely with our partners to ensure every student has access to the information and resources they need to succeed.
Through this partnership, we continue the tradition started at Hirschi High—creating pathways to higher education, mentorship, and success for the next generation of leaders.
In addition to our two Legacy of Hirschi scholarships, students can explore community-based and external awards available through the WFISD Foundation and local counseling offices.

🧠 Ten Tips for a Strong Scholarship Application

Whether you’re applying for a Legacy of Hirschi scholarship or other awards through the WFISD Foundation, these tips can help you make your best impression:

Read all requirements carefully. Make sure you’re eligible before starting your application

Create your account wisely. You’ll need to create a WFISD Foundation account to apply. Use your personal email address, not your school email — you’ll lose access to your WFISD email after graduation.

Complete every section. If a question doesn’t apply, note that clearly instead of leaving it blank.

Follow all instructions. Include every required document — transcripts, recommendation letters, and essays.

Take pride in presentation. Type your application or make sure your handwriting is neat and legible.

Tell your story. Use your essay to share who you are, your goals, and how the Legacy of Hirschi community has shaped your journey.

Watch deadlines closely. The application closes April 4, 2025 — no late submissions can be accepted.

Double-check submissions. Make sure all materials reach the WFISD Foundation portal before the deadline.

Proofread everything. Review your spelling and grammar; ask a teacher, counselor, or parent to look over your work.

Read all requirements carefully. Make sure you’re eligible before starting your application

Ask for support. Reach out to Coach Mack Sillemon or Mrs. Jessica Dixon for help or clarification.
